Well, as most of you know I LOVE buying gifts. I realized yesterday that part of the reason it didn't seem like Christmas was because I hadn't bought a single gift! So, this morning I set out on my mission. My list was long. It was hot. I walked, and walked, and walked. I found better deals after already having bought an item. I asked for prices a million times over. I think I even walked in circles trying to re-find something I had passed up earlier... hahaha! Let's just say that santa's workshop and sleigh thing makes getting and giving gifts A LOT easier than shopping the markets here in Arequipa! :)
BUT, I now have gifts for my secret angel at work, for my boss, candy santa suckers for the kids at my elementary school, giant candy canes for my students at the institute, and a few gifts for Luis and fam, Arecely and fam. Still have to find a few choice items, some wrapping paper, oh yeah tape and scissors... you know all that fun stuff that I'm just now thinking about! AND in the end it was an adventure today and defnitely fun! I haven't allowed myself to buy much in the markets and it was great to just wander around at my own whim and buy things for all the people that have made my life so great here!
I also now have Christmas lights in the window of my living room and a stocking (thanks to my wondeful package from my mom) hanging above my bed! :) "It's beginning to feel a little like Christmas...."
I hope y'all are doing well and enjoying the wondeful Christmas season! I've heard the snow has started falling... have fun shoveling!
Until soon,
Kate
