Fiestas, fiestas, and more fiestas...

Bolivians know how to party that's for sure! It seems like every week and every weekend is the celebration of something or another and it ALL has traditions that are not to be missed! I've been to nightly masses at the institute for the week of a Virgen Peregrina (still don't know or understand), a Birthday Bash complete with full meal and all for one of the professors and my friend, yesterday was Mother's Day here and EVERYONE was out walking the streets carrying cakes and flowers, etc. AND, tonight I'm leaving for La Paz for one of the best parties of the country as I'm told... I've very much been encouraged to go, and for that I am making the 10 hour bus trip tonight and tomorrow night (BACK)! Yikes! It should be a pretty cool spectacle of dance and costume though I'm told and I plan on purchasing yet another replacement second hand camera (since it's a bigger city I'm hoping to find a decent one)!
So, anywho... busy, busy, busy... partying, partying, partying! hahaha! "You just HAVE to participate to fully experience Bolivia" (Quote taken from my students)! So participate I am... by the way next Wed. and Thurs. is Corpus Cristo where I can only eat fish and fruit or something... and of course there's a party to follow! I'll let you know how it goes!
