Turkey Day in Tenleytown

So... I decided to stay in D.C. for the holidays.  WHY? You ask.  Well, suffice it to say that I have three papers due next week, flights were over $400, my parents and bro ended up eating at Ruth Chris Steakhouse (so much for old T-day traditions), and I thought it better to travel when I have more time over just-around-the-corner Christmas.
That being said, I ended up sleeping in, visiting the grocery store, baking a pumpkin pie, and going to my friend's house for dinner.  It was really low key - kinda nice in some ways.  Hilarious to see me carrying wine, bread, and pie on the metro! :)  It was a different Thanksgiving... just like last year was different... so was this one.  I can't believe it's Friday night... where did the week go???  Ahhhh!
BUT, the great news is that I got a new computer today!  Thanks mom and dad for the early christmas money!  I can't believe what a huge difference it is... I realized the other day that my laptop was 8 years old!  Guess it was time! :)
The volunteers in Bolivia seem to be doing much better and have gotten their feet on the ground teaching... I'm so thrilled about that.
Jessi had Thanksgiving with the other peace corps volunteers... she made ranch flavored (the dry seasoning packet came in handy) mashed potatoes using a motar and pestal (sp?).
My friend Jennette moved into her new house (she bought a stinkin 3 bedroom house... wow)!
My friends Sofia and Adam moved to Sydney... so jealous!  I want to go back and visit them again!

Life is good.  Grad school is "eating us alive" as one my classmates texted me this evening! haha!

So I happened upon this blog entry while doing a random search (ah-hem, I mean researching) online: http://11d.typepad.com/blog/2006/04/grad_school_bar.html... if you're in the mood for sarcasm and a laugh, check it out.  It's about "grad school barbie"... too funny!

Alright, back to the paper writing (on my new computer... woo hoo)!
