I have a robot living in my midst...

My new Droid phone is FINALLY working!!!!  YEA!  Persistence, stubborness, and whining DO pay off sometimes... with a lot of patience! :)  Haha!  So, you can now please call me at my new/old number: 217-691-1954!  But seriously this phone is a robot... the guy in the store told me that it does everything but cook you dinner, and I'm starting to believe him! :)

Thanks for all of your wonderfully great and helpful comments on my last post.  I have the best friends and family ever!  And Kristi, I came up with something pretty similar to that and wrote a long, confusing, maybe really good paper... we'll see when I get my grade back I guess!  AND I'm loving the M&M and Pretzel idea - sounds like brainfood to me!

Once I finally got through classes Thursday, Pedro and I got to help my new friend Mariela celebrate her birthday, went to visit the momuments, a free jazz concert in the National Gallery of Art's Sculture Garden (REALLY cool). and the zoo.  I think he had a good time and got to see a little of our nation's capitol!
Nose to the grindstone now though.  Two books, a bazillion articles, and another paper due this week.  Oh yeah and the washing machine is hooked back up, so now I have like five loads of laundry to do as well! Oh well, life is good.  The weather is great, temp has cooled down and it's beautiful out.  My bike is working, my phone is working, my computer is working... cross your fingers it stays that way!

I sincerely hope that you are all doing well.  Souf, thanks for the Spanish help ;)
I'll write more soon.
Kate

  1. welcome to the world of smart phones! i'm ashamed of how much i love my iphone.

a friend in berkeley once told me that grad school is where fun goes to die. it doesn't always feel that way, of course. but know that when you feel overwhelmed and frustrated, those feelings are normal. grad school is HARD.

    i love you!!

  4. I recently discovered on blogger that one can add reaction buttons to posts, like, "cool, interesting, etc." Not to be too much of a facebook nerd, but I did mine in the spirit of facebook - plain old "like." I think you ought to consider adding a reaction button so we, your faithful readers, can acknowledge that we have read your posts... Unless by signing in it tracks us and tells you already? All this to say, yay for working technology and one paper down.

  5. KK, DoubleD here - you are doing well, as I can see. Life as a grad student + where you are + add to that your more than adventurous nature = THE most amazing time for you. Goal will be realized - hmmmmm....maybe before 2012? Who knows. Enjoy each day - but I know you do that already. How are the baby roses? XXX D
