Tam Coc via Motobike!!!

Whew! After getting off the bus and enjoying a mostly contemplative 1.5 mile walk with my backpack to my hostel during sunset, I met a great new friend, Erin!  She and another girl were planning to ride bicycles to dinner and invited me to join, so join I did. Over local beers, Na Da, Erin and I quickly found out we had similar plans for the following day - renting a scooter and seeing the sites - though neither of us had ridden our own motorbikes before 😲. Up at 6:30, rented our scooters and off we went!

This area is AMAZING...gorgeous rowboat rides through rivers, caves, and the majesty if the limestone karsts. After riding our bikes through rice fields and villages, we climbed steps for a view...and then more steps to a pagoda and Buddah. Did I mention it didn't rain today (first day since I've been here...I guess there was a typhoon?!?!?!), but it was humid as hell! Other than the hike in Sapa, or my time in India, I don't know if I've ever been so sweaty!

We are now pros on the scooters, despite a few minor scares (most involving stopping or starting...😀) and friends who have had the fortunate of sharing a day of seeing some of the beauty of this country together, sweat and all!

Look! She's rowing with her feet!!

Yep, we were rowed through that cave!

Can you say real life Splash Mountain?!

"How many stairs did it say?!"

"Do you know which Pagoda this is?" "Nope, do you?" "Nope, but let's take a picture!"

Look Ma! Selfie while scooting!

Tallest or largest Pagoda in Southeast Asia - can you see the layers of humidity in the picture?! H.O.T.

Second boat trip of the day...look at the color of that water!

King Kong set...we think...

Beautiful and super friendly hostel!

Look at us! We're pros!

"I got this...right?"

The Dragon at the top of so so many steps

"Can I take a picture with you?" "Yeah ok, I guess..."

What a day! Thanks Erin for being a great adventure buddy today and for navigating!

Now we're on to a 8hr night bus to Phong Nha. Here we goooooo...
