The Good:
I heard from everyone is Ecuador and Bolivia... and things are looking up. The strike seems to be mostly over in Bolivia and once again food and water are widely available (praise God)! In Ecuador, it doesn't seem that many of my friends were too shaken up (pun intended) by and thankfully no one was hurt.
My mom and my sister came up for a quick visit and we found wal-mart AND target!!!! woo hoo! Oh, and Jessi didn't get injured by the closing metro doors (just a little squished)! :)
My tuition is going to be a little less than I had been calculating!!! YEA!!!!!
The Bad:
The bike Jessi gave me isn't working...
The printer I bought didn't come with a USB cable to hook it up to the computer (there's an extra $25... not such a good price on the printer after all.... arg...)
The books that I ordered online, the bookstore has no record of, and therefore they are not in... did I mention classes start Tuesday?!
The Ugly:
The phone I've been waiting for that was finally ordered with my original number... is on back order (they told me it would be here by today and now they're saying I'll be lucky if I get it in a couple of weeks)!!! Which in turn means buying another stupid month of prepaid service! All of which is the incompetent people at Verizon's fault!
When I supposedly did the right thing and had my computer configured for AU's campus yesterday, I then got home and about two hours later it got a virus. Brought it all the way back to campus today only for the guy to say it was really bad, he wouldn't have time to work on it today - maybe he could figure something out tomorrow, but probably will have to reboot everything (thus losing stuff... luckily I listened to my dad and have most everything backed up on my external hard drive).
BUT, more practically causing me to be without internet or computer access today, tomorrow, etc. That may not seem like such a big deal, but when you don't have a TV or anything, the internet is your access to any and everything! Like looking for jobs, finding bus routes, connecting with classmates, watching movies, etc. Boo! (Now if I had my phone with internet, this also wouldn't be such a big bummer, hmmm...)
All of that to say that life isn't always as simple or easy as we would like, but it is good. God is good and we learn through every situation. Classes start on Tuesday, I can't wait!!!
Hope you all are well and thank you for your thoughts and prayers!
KK
Sorry to learn of all the things that have gone wrong, but your attitude is right on and you have a new adventure to look forward too. Praying that you have a better week.
