I walked to where I thought my University campus was... I didn't print out a map cause I currently don't own a printer... I didn't ask a stranger for directions (even though I obviously speak their language) because I was embarrassed...
And then...
I walked and walked and walked some more.
And then...
I admitted I was lost. I called my mom and she asked what I had been doing. I told her "I have been walking... for two hours!"
And then...
I felt stupid when I finally found my way and realized if I had just trusted myself that I had been on the right road to begin with, I just didn't give myself enough time on that road... hmmm...
And then...
I walked around campus, and just looked, because it was then five o'clock and all the offices and bookstore I needed to go to were closed...
And then...
I started walking the two miles back "home"
And then...
It started to rain, no pour, and I don't have an umbrella cause I gave it away in the rainforest. And I don't have a rain jacket cause I left it in Illinois for my mom to try to get clean (isn't she sweet?!)
And then...
I started feeling sorry for myself... wondering if this was a good move (literally)...
And then...
Mary Mary's song came on my ipod and into my ears... there's a part that says "I just can't give up now, I've come too far from where I started from... I don't believe He's brought me this far just to leave me here..."
And then...
I smiled.
God is good. All the time.
And then...
I heard the line of the song that made me laugh at myself... "Nobody said the road would be easy..." On the contrary! Everyone told me these decisions I was/am making for myself would be difficult... really challenging... and my response "Well, I do like a challenge!"
I laughed because what do you know... God listened! :) And challenge me He is.
What are a few soaking wet clothes, sore feet, and a frustrated mind? That is when you realize you have a warm, dry, place to call home, just waiting for you to get there. Well that and a sense of humor of course!
Life is good... when you rememeber who's in charge.
OH, Kate! What a day. Certainly memorable... So glad it ended with a bright spot :)
