lombriz

Did anyone know there was such a thing as a gigantic earthworm called a lombriz??? Well, it was pouring down rain yesterday and I was walking to meet one of the Achuar guides under the kayak hut when he shouted "be careful!" I looked down toward my feet and saw what I thought was some kind of snake at first... then I realized it was weird cause it's "head" and "tail" looked exactly the same and it looked more like a slug or something. He then matter of factly stated, "it's a lombriz and I din't want you to hurt it" as it inched it's way through the puddles and mud. It was like two feet long! When I looked it up it basically translated and showed pictures of giant worms. Too weird!
