Hope y'all have a blessed Easter Sunday with your families and loved ones! Here's a few pics for you to enjoy! I'll post some of this morning's Easter mass soon... it was amazing. But, let's just say I slept all of one in a half hours last night. TIRED but feeling very blessed and happy to finally have gone to a real church service here. It was absolutely beautiful.
Now, for my week in pictures:

Isabel's mom making a "headband" using all handmade wooden tools. It was literally unbelievable that this is how they make all of these that the guys wear every day!

My buddy, Kayanuwa with a noctural monkey... a pet of the house... so cute and miserable cause we had him out in the middle of the day!

Jason in his "crib" or makeshift hammock that all the little kids sleep in... NOT sleeping and Kayanuwa looking on...

Jason learning to walk... remember the kid I think could be on the pampers commercial... TOO CUTE!!!!

My student, Jose, Kayanuwa's daddy working on building his family a house!

The famous flying ants...

Helping fry the ants in the guests' kitchen... with just a little salt!

Finally eating the delicacy with my friend, a naturalist guide, Mauricio... mmmmmmm....

Went to collect lemons for the kitchen with a couple of the guys...
A few of the kids in a community we went to visit to party and buy hunted animals...

Buying of the meats...

Yep, it's a chargrilled monkey!

One of my students with his purchases.... yummy!

Me playing with the kids, as usual when all the guys are drinking and talking Achuar... I eventually find my way out of the circle over to where the kids are hanging out to at least play with the camera! :)

The sunset on the canoe ride back that night... it was magnificent and what a better picture to finish with on Easter?!
Sorry, not much time to explain. Headed to the community for the Easter festivals and sports day and then to cover the other volunteer's classes with the kids tomorrow morning!
Love y'all!
Kate
