I sit here on the top of a mountain with a huge monument dedicated to Buddha called "The World Peace Bagoda" - in a small cafe surrounded with beauty.
The irony is that the clouds/ fog have all but enveloped me, this place. There is no longer a city down below. The lake seems to have only existed in my photographs. The long, hard, steep, sweaty path up here to the top from the boat ride across the lake is all but a distant memory.
What does exist is only the Nepalese family with 3 kids enjoying their meal. And the butterflies landing on the gorgeous tropical flowers on this balcony where I sit on a homemade loveseat enjoying the cool mountain air that has come with the rain.
Life seems so simple, so beautiful, so calm, so peaceful - it begins to make all the sense in the world - this place built up here in the clouds.
The woman who owns the Elite Cafe sits and sings to herself while staring out into the vast whiteness that has blanketed everything. Not only has Nepal managed to feed my spirit in such a short time, but also my belly! What could be better than a fried banana "pancake" and " milk coffee while watching the rain and contemplating life's most existential questions?!
Get in my belly!! Love the post!
