Things Observed & Lessons Learned

* Nepalese people smile and are very friendly!
* The exchange rate is 107 NR to 1 USD
* What they say is an hour and a half walk is really a 2 hour hike/killer climb in the jungle with humidity that could kill
* Whether it's not eating, dehydration, altitude, etc. that's about the most "trekking" in this weather that my body is capable of
* When they say there's really nothing to do here - it's monsoon season...they are lying
* When they say the view is not that good right now, what they mean is the views are absolutely stunning, you just can't see the Himalayan because of the rain clouds
* Prices seem more upfront, honest, and fair here
* There are no Tuk Tuks...city buses instead
* BEST. Laundry. Service. Ever.
* Nepalis think it strange when you don't use an umbrella
* Trails of rock and red clay become virtual slip and slides when it's monsoon season - falling hurts
* Walking solo on a jungle path in the light rain is enchantingly beautiful
* Singing in the rain is very comforting (I know I know...cliche)
* 12 year old guides disguised as little boys can come along just at the right time!
* Rice fields are mystical and beautiful when you walk among them in the light rain
* Swinging pedestrian bridges built over rushing, gushing rivers are nerve racking
* My Ahnu hiking boots are a lifesaver in Monsoon season
* Blind people give great massages - "Seeing Hands Nepal"

And sorry Frost, but the most important lesson of the day: When you are alone and two paths diverge in the monsoony Nepalese jungle - definitely, most definitely,  choose the path most travelled by!!!
