Crocodile Dundee - the female version

I joined a bus full of other tourists and headed up the coast toward Cape Tribulation today. I was pretty skeptical about how much I would enjoy spending time on a bus with 16 other people all day, but our guide/driver made it SO enjoyable. Her name is Beck, and she is trully the closest thing to a real live Croc expert you're gonna find! She grew up in Cape Trib which is only accessible by ferry and she told hilarious story after story about growing up without electricity, riding the school bus for 3 hrs everyday, and selling rare insects to the archeologists (who weren't allowed to remove them from the rain forest) for $20! Did I mention that it is the second wettest spot in Australia so it rains ALL the time except right now... I chose the perfect time to come see this wonderful beach, rain forest community, and experience the wildlife! They say it's one of the only places where the Reef meets the Rain forest... literally.
The only disappointment came in only getting to spend about an hour on the GORGEOUS beach... I should have done the overnight trip, but who knew?!
I got to see Salt Water Crocs today that were up to six feet long, in the wild! They "take" or eat about 40 people every year! Oh yeah and Australia is a DANGEROUS place I'm beginning to understand... did you know there's a plant that can kill you with it's sting of tiny glass needle thingys? YIKES!
