I crashed at Sofia and Adam's one last night after a beautiful day exploring the Great Ocean Road... they were then kind enough to see me off at 6:45 am this morning! I hiked with my pack to the train station just in time to be stopped by the railroad "no crossing" and helplessly stand there and watch my train pick up passengers and continue on. Bummer! But, I knew there was another coming along shortly, so I bought my ticket (I'm a pro now!) and before I knew it was on an express train into the CBD. I ran off the train around 7:40, thought I would buy my ticket for the 8:05 Adelaide train and then once there buy my ticket for the Ghan... WRONG! Everything, all three options were completely sold out! So what is a backpacker to do? Go to the internet cafe and look up "how in the hell do I get out of here to somewhere I want to go today?" haha! I found a flight to Cairns which is a beautiful resort/backpackers paradise town with access to the Great Barrier Reef.
As of 4:45 when I walked out of the airport it was about 80 degrees! Yea! Spent the evening walking around the Esplanade bordering the ocean and found a beautiful park/salt water lagoon in the middle of town! I think that's where I'll head tomorrow! I'm staying at a VERY interesting hostel - called Asylum - I think I will be switching tomorrow! :) That's it for now, cause I'm getting kicked off the free internet... my time is up it seems!
