I got told by two American Airforce guys on my tour today that I was quote "livin the dream" and I should continue just being me and not caring what anyone said or thought... but as usual I also got the warning about being careful and watching my back, being female and being alone! :) Mark and Mike were awesome... we jumped off waterfalls and climbed rocks, swam in huge swimming holes, watched in amazement as GIANT crocs jumped for meat, looked at wonderfully tall termite mounds, and then went out and enjoyed a night on the town!!! It was really the best of me... I felt like when I was a kid trying to keep up with the boys swimming, climbing, and jumping - never quite being able to, but enjoying trying - and then felt beautiful tonight when they treated me to a wonderful Thai dinner and had a great time dancing to wonderful classic hits at the bar!
If only every day was as encouraging, amazing, and flat out FUN as today was! :)
I have to go to bed NOW, cause I catch the bus to the train at 8:30 tom morning! Ahhhhhhhh!
Love y'all and hope things are well.
Kate
So, I was trying to read a boring book for school and, looking for a distraction, realized I hadn't checked your blog in a few days. OMG! You have done SO MUCH cool stuff, and it sounds like everyday is an insane adventure. I can't believe you didn't bring me! lol. Next time you backpack through Australia, I'm THERE. Okay? Okay.
ReplyDeletePlease be safe and have so, so much fun. I'd tell you to do something you wouldn't normally do just for me, but it looks like you've taken care of that already--- everyday!
Miss you.
1) Please stop wearing deodorant so random hot Aussies/Policemen/Military Guys will not hit on you anymore. It's just not fair to the rest of us.
ReplyDelete2) Keep writing and take LOTS of pictures because I can't be there with you and I'm crazy jealous of your carpe diem life.
3) I miss you even more than I thought I would. Are you sure you can't make a trip to Egypt in December?
Cant wait to see you soon.
All my <3, Jess
HAHA! Ok, you two are TOO funny! I am having a blast... maybe not EVERY moment of everyday as this blog may lead you to believe, but the majority has been an awesomely fun experience! And, no Jessi, I will not stop wearing deodorant! LOL! Sorry I haven't been able to post more pics, I'm going to try to get on that tonight...
ReplyDeleteBrit next time I come to Australia you HAVE to come and we're renting/temporarily buying a caravan (or campervan) and doing this backpacking the outback thing the right way!!!!!!
Jes, I miss you too! I tried to call the other day, but... heard there was another phone fiasco. oops! I WANT so bad to come to Egypt... who knows... :) $ and time are always the issue, right?
